Meeting Places (The Most Important Part!)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Most of you will be pretty happy that you've got a week off on account of the Easter Break. As a result of the break, we will be closed. HOWEVER. We will be having a bit of an out of the ordinary field trip! (See next section).

UNSW Go Club Easter Field Trip!
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Location: Younggil's Go School - in Level 6, Suite 3 of Strathfield Plaza (right next to Strathfield Train Station).
Date: Wednesday, April 11, 2012
Time:
The Go School opens up at about 3pm until about 11pm. You're free to come and go as you please. UNSW Go Club Execs will be showing up at around 3:00pm to help with introductions.
Cost:
Younggil's Go School normally charges $20. We're not 100% sure of the price, but we can gurantee it won't be more than $20. It's quite a worthwhile experience though, so we highly recommend it. No, the school does not pay us to say this; however, Younggil has graciously volunteered to occasionally visit and teach at our club free of charge, so if we could reciprocate once in a while it would be nice!
Details:
An Younggil is a professional 9 dan player, and many of the players at his club are single digit kyu and dan players. It's a great opportunity to test everything you've been learning at UNSW Go Club against some great players, and see how your style measures up against some fresh perspectives. The players there are also accustomed to reviewing and teaching, so it's a great opportunity to improve your game.
We've seen a lot of people in the UNSW's KGS club room playing and reviewing-- but have you ever tried to review an entire, live, in person game from memory? Seems like a trivial detail-- but this, and several other skills, are the sorts of fundamental old-school basics that a trip to the School helps foster.
You can also join the Facebook Event
You can find out more about the school at: http://gogameguru.com/younggils-go-school/
NB: the lift moves really slowly

Korean BBQ Get Together
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
For those of you of you who would like, at around 7pm on April 11th (Wednesday also), most of us be headed somewhere nearby for some Korean BBQ, and get to know eachother away from the boards. It'll be a great way to refuel after an intense afternoon of schooling and playing.
If you don't want to play, you can just join the group for dinner also! Just contact us and let us know you're coming so we know to wait for you and save you a seat.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Invite your Friends!!
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
The UNSW Go Club isn't just about UNSW-- we're about Go in general. Especially since it's a week off, and the venue this week is away from school, it's a great opportunity for you to bring other Go players (or people who want to learn Go) to meet the club. Bring that Dad or Aunt or whoever who taught you! Of course, this goes for our general meets as well-- bring your guests, play some games.
And as always, everyone including non-unsw students are invited to the Facebook Group and in the KGS club space (UNSW Go Club) so we can share ideas and play together.
